Moving is a trust business. You are letting strangers carry everything you own out of your home - so the company you hire should be easy to verify and impossible to be surprised by. That is the whole idea behind MoveXpress: licensed, insured, one clear price agreed before the truck arrives, and a crew that treats your things like they have to survive the trip - because they do.
How we price - and why
- Long-distance anywhere in California: one flat rate. Quoted from your inventory, confirmed before moving day. Traffic on I-5 is our problem, not your bill.
- Local moves in SF and the Bay Area: an honest hourly rate. The clock covers the crew, the truck, blankets, wrap, and tools. Preparation saves you money, and we tell you exactly how.
- $0 hidden fees. The only costs outside a quote are city-owned things like parking permits, and anything that was not in the inventory you approved.
Check us before you trust us
Every legal California household mover holds a state license and must show it. Ours: CAL-T #200805 and carrier registration CA #644816 - both printed in the footer of every page on this site, and both verifiable through the State of California's public carrier lookup. Basic valuation coverage is included with every move; full-value protection is available on request. If any mover you talk to hesitates to give you their license number - keep shopping.
Where we work
Home base is San Francisco. Local crews cover the whole Bay Area - from Oakland and Berkeley to Palo Alto and the Peninsula estate towns. Long-distance crews run the entire state: Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, and everywhere between.
What we will not do
- Quote a price we cannot keep, to win a booking
- Hand your belongings to a partner carrier or a consolidation warehouse
- Add moving-day surcharges invented on the spot
- Treat a studio apartment with less care than an Atherton estate
