The sweet spot
A weekday between the 5th and the 20th. Crews are fresher, schedules are flexible, buildings have elevator slots, and short-notice moves are actually possible. If your lease allows any overlap at all, buy yourself a mid-month move.
Weather notes nobody tells you
- San Francisco fog is a season, not a mood: summer mornings in the Sunset are wet enough to matter for cardboard. We wrap accordingly.
- Sacramento and the Central Valley cook in July and August: morning starts protect both crews and candles.
- Tahoe moves in winter run on chain control and storm windows: build a weather buffer into your plan.
Booking lead times
Mid-month weekday: often a few days. Month-end or summer Saturday: two weeks or more. Same-day: call and ask, it works more often than people expect.
